Sue and MamaSmurf thanks for the replies but I seen many seniors mentioning that cinnamon and dried apricots are helpful.

If you have the resources for cinnamon , dried apricots and potassium please state. I mean to say from where I can get more info.

Contrary to the above,

1) A half teaspoon a day has been shown to not only reduce cholesterol and triglycerides, it has been shown to help with the insulin/glucose absorption problem in insulin resistant diabetics:

2) The purer, the better.

4) Makes no difference. Potassium from fresh fruits and vegetables is no different than dried ones.

I haven’t taken any medication for my type two diabetes since December 13th. You can believe those who are still on the drugs, or you can believe me. It’s up to you.

Despite what some of the sadly misinformed here are telling you, is that not all carb Calories react the same in a diabetic. In fact, the fructose in fruits does not require nearly as much insulin to function in the human body. Hence, it’s glycemic index of a mere 19 compared to other carbs. Fructose, despite its categorization as a sugar, has a much lower adverse affect on us diabetics than rice or potatoes. I eat nearly 600 Calories a day of fruits, and my blood sugar is fine…. WITH NO MEDICATION WHATSOEVER. Here’s more on the glycemic index: http://www.mendosa.com/gi.htm
